J. Cowhie is a Dublin born, Malmö based multidisciplinary artist.
As a musician he has recorded, performed, and released music under the names
Goodtime John, GOODTIME, J. Cowhie, KAJA, and c o m t e, and has run
the graphic studio and label Stéille since 2020.
Recently his sound practice has expanded into the fields of embodied and sonic interaction,
exploring how sound can be used to inform and educate audiences about critical global issues.
In 2025, he curated the sound installation “Ocean Reflections” for World Ocean Day.
The project featured the piece Below/Above, continuing his research into the effects of
ocean noise pollution on marine life.
He is currently Artist in Residence at Malmö University, Sweden.
